I imagine you have to pay for refills here. Had to pay for chips and salsa? Really? No soap in the bathroom? No refills the whole time we were there. Reggae music, very odd at a Mexican joint but whatever. Usually pay $5 for a bean and cheese burrito. No kids menu so a lot of food was wasted. It was $12 and big enough for a grown man. I wanted to get my 5yr old daughter a bean and cheese burrito. Finding help these days or being able to afford help is hard right now and I can't fault anyone for it.įirst off $60 brunch with no alcohol. A shame but that's not why the poor review. The bartender was also the waitress and the owner needs to thank her for keeping the business alive today. It's a shame that these servers have to deal with poor management such as this.I miss tortilla flats so much. If you cannot afford or be bothered to have a hostess and a bartender at a restaurant where the average tab is $60-$100 then you should probably shut your doors. Management obviously does not care about the customer or their staff. I came for the drinks and didn't get my money's worth. I paid $30 for two double Crown and 7's, and felt like it was a huge rip off. She gave us excellent service, considering how busy she was. We were not in a rush and were sympathetic with Adrienne's position. We waited 20 minutes to have our drink and dinner order taken. Our server, Adrienne, was very nice and immediately served us water and chips. There was no bartender, no hostesses and not a manager in sight. Instead we waited 10 minutes to be seated by a server, who was obviously already overwhelmed. The prices are high, but given Placerville has few restaurants with a full bar, this used to be a decent choice. Last night was my fifth visit to Tortilla Flats since they reopened under new management.
